“Time is Money.”

While this statement is certainly true for almost all businesses and industries, it’s literally the foundation of the Construction Industry. Ask anyone involved in a construction project what the top priorities are beyond safety and they’ll say, “finishing on time and under budget.” However, it’s not that simple. Project schedules can fall apart or be pushed back for a number of reasons, but more often than not it comes back to poor planning and/or lack of communication.

Each project involves numerous people so it’s not hard for issues to fall through the cracks when there are a lot of moving pieces. Gone are the days where everything is done with pencil and paper, issues on-site are brought back to the office to be resolved in a few days, and communication is only over the phone and email. Technology and Millennials are taking over. I kid, but technology and positions such as BIM Project Manager, Senior BIM Coordinator, VDC Manager, and Director of VDC are becoming extremely sought after by leading General Contractors. The reason being, these companies are now understanding how to leverage software such as Autodesk BIM 360 which has given them a centralized platform for everyone involved in the project lifecycle to communicate in real time. Having the ability to document issues along with photos and daily field activities that automatically gets sent to subcontractors has become a great time saving tool and allows for a smooth installation with minimal field changes.

However, what good is new technology if you don’t have the right people in place to train and encourage adoption of these new tools and workflows. Data suggests contractors commonly report a difficultly finding people who are qualified to perform BIM work or with enough knowledge of the software in general. That’s where we step in.

If you can say you aren’t fully satisfied with where your company stands on adoption and leverage of technology, which let’s be real, the construction industry as a whole is one of the slowest to realize the potential technology has on boosting productivity and commercial gain, then you should welcome a conversation with Jackson & Associates with open arms.

You will see that because we are only focused in the Construction and Manufacturing industry, we work harder to get the job done right. That’s why companies often turn to us after not getting the results they need elsewhere.

Remember “time is money” so stop wasting it and let us, Jackson & Associates, find the qualified candidates that are going to take your company to the next level in the construction world of innovation and technology.
